I need help developing a curriculum for conversational English (ESL) for students ages 13 to 17. I have no text book and this is the first time I teach high schoolers.

There's a really good BBC site called 'The Flatmates', which is updated every Tuesday.
The www address is: BBClearningenglish.com/flatmates
Each episode consists of a short dialogue (which students can listen to as well as read) between 2 or more characters, with a language point and quiz, which explore aspects of spoken and conversational English such as tag questions, idioms, phrasal verbs, tenses etc. Students get to vote on what happens to the characters, and there is also a 'talk' feature where they can post comments. All the episodes (there are 67 to date) are archived and they are all free!!!Nik, UK
You can find lots of materials for developing conversation with teens on the Language Assistant website at http://www.britishcouncil.org/languageassistant-essential-uk.htm . The materials can be used with a range of levels. There's a collection of about 80 theme based lesson plans with photocopiable classroom materials.
