What should be the interaction between the style of the teacher and learner?
Should the teacher really have a style or should s/he reflect students' styles by teaching in the way they like and understand better? Which do you think is the best approach to dealing with different teaching and learning styles?

What the teacher should be bringing to the class is enthusiasm and interest, and this should dictate the style. In the ideal classroom the level of interest will be shared and mutually generated. If the interest and enthusiasm is lacking then it is certainly the teacher who should change first - followed by the learners!

The ultimate aim of any teacher is to be understood by the students he is teaching. There is nothing wrong in the teacher having his own style but he should not be rigid in his approach, where there is need he should be flexible i.e. teach the way the students like so that they would understand him better.

I believe that the teacher should always try to use different styles to his teaching. Otherwise, students might get bored.

Students will usually learn better if they get used to the style of teaching.

The teacher has to be a mix of what they like (their style) and what students like (their way of learning)! That would be the ideal teacher!

I believe the main idea is to present English in the most digestive manner possible for the benefit of the student- whatever it takes. I think that means modifying or adapting the teacher's style to the student's own understanding and the way they like -- but using English correctly in the right form.

Each teacher has her/his personal teaching style, and usually that is the way s/he teaches. But each person has a learning style, and if you want your students to grab things more quickly, find out about their style and give the whole class activities that suit every style. That is, one lesson can have visual things, songs (listening), writing exercises, reading. And that makes the class more active and more entertaining for you and for them. You will have less bored students.

It's important to adapt your style to the students, but also to bear in mind some of the rules (TTT or prompting) that we learned as TEFL/TESL Students...

These days the students have more awareness about their rights and a tendency not to accept the teacher's imposing of rules. Teacher have to develop a way to adhere to the students' opinions without losing efficiency.

The best way to learn is to work hard at it; the best way to teach is not to let the students notice they're working hard. So this means you have to give them a certain amount of what they like and are interested in but give them something they haven't seen before to stop them getting bored. Er, obviously.

I believe the best teacher is the one who tries to make some sort of balance betwen the theoretical considerations and students' style and expectations. Too much attention on their will may lead to an uncntrollable situation. Indiviualisation works but is difficult in practice.

You have to adapt to your student. The lesson is provided for their use and so must meet their needs. A variety of approaches should be used as all students will learn differently. Although teachers are only human and will be happy using the teaching style they prefer, they will not get the desired results.

The best style of a good teacher is that he or she can adopt his or her teaching way to the students.

I teach pupils who have slight learning problems. They are the first "victims" of teachers using their own style and not adapting it to pupils.

It's a question of starting where the students are at and can understand and taking them forward from there which could mean slowly introducing your own style.
