Like so many others around the world I was over joyed by the results of the recent US presidential election. I was actually playing Blues in a band at an election party as the results started to come in. I wonder how many of us will remeber what we were doing on the historical day.
Well to celebrate and to try to spread the good word around the world, I've created two activities that you can share with your students.
The first is based on a site that is trying to collect a million messages to Obama asking him to help us change the world.

The second is a listening / text reconstruction activity donated by Voicebooks.com . It involves downloading a small software programme (14 Mb), but is very good listening practice and is based around reconstructing the text of an Obama speech.

I hope you and your students will enjoy these. Please post comments below if you have any feedback on these activities o would like to share any other useful materials for students based around this topic.
