Tips for Teacher Trainers

Here are some tips for teacher trainers, who have to go places helping teachers with their problems of teaching.

I hope you will find some of the tips relevant to your context.

1.Want to be a good trainer?

Ask yourself,

Was I a good trainee?

2. Most people do not like to be at the receiving end!

So tell them..

You have come not to tell but to listen to them

And they will listen to you!

3. Have faith in God

 Have faith in yourself

And more importantly...

have faith in your trainees!

4. If you are at your at your wit's end

Relax.

Have faith in your trainees' wit!

5. Forgotten to carry your transparencies or CDs?

Don't worry.

Forgotten to carry your smile?

You need to worry.

6. DIFFERENT CONTEXTS

  DIFFERENT GREETINGS

Honourable Scholars

Respected Educators

Dear Teacher Participants

Dear Colleagues

Remember,

Teachers do not like to be called 'trainees' or 'students'

So address them as 'Prospective Teacher Trainers'.
