MAKE CULTURE REAL. BRING A SOUVENIR TO CLASS.

One of the aims of early English teaching is to develop an interest in and love of the language. One of the ways to do this is to stimulate interest in the culture. I've never forgotten a teacher at IH in the Canaries who encouraged his students to bring to class a souvenir their parents had brought back from holidays abroad. He created a culture corner and got his class to describe the souvenirs and to compare them with their equivalents in Spain and the Canaries. Nothing ever got stolen! What a brilliant way to rouse interest in the culture! What kind of practical activities do you use? Share them with us.
